2015 Fall Mixer

Garden Fresh Gourmet ignited the fresh salsa revolution in 1998, when Jack and Annette Aronson made their first batch of salsa in a five-gallon bucket at their restaurant in Ferndale. When sales took off, the Aronson’s sold their restaurant and got into the salsa business full time. Today, they make the #1 fresh salsa in North America, along with a full line of tortilla chips, hummus, and dips. In June, Garden Fresh entered into an agreement to sell the assets and business to Campbell Soup Co. for $231 million. The closing is expected to occur in the fourth quarter of 2015, and as part of the deal, Jack Aronson will stay on as an advisor to the business.

At our Fall Mixer, Jack talked about the company’s founding principles, the innovations that allowed for national distribution of a fresh product line, keys to business success, and advice he has for aspiring and established business professionals. Complementary appetizers were served, courtesy of 220 Merrill and a cash bar was available.
